This time three years ago I was six months pregnant with my middle child and had just been signed off work on the sick due to mobility problems. I was suffering from pelvic girdle pain which was made worse by the fact that I am hypermobile, I could barely walk and was in constant pain as I was also suffering from sciatica. I was referred for physio which did not help at all and was basically just told to cope with the pain until my baby was born, as it would disappear after birth.
However when my baby was born the pain was worse! I could not even stand up unaided for weeks after her birth due to problems with my pelvis. Another pregnancy followed just five months later and once again I was in pain with my pelvis and back, I am still in pain now 18 months later. In bed I am unable to lie on my right hand side as I get pains in my back, pelvis and right thigh and I am often woken in pain during the night. I also get pain in my lower back if I bend down or am not sitting properly, if I am particularly active I also get pains in my pelvis.
I have tried mentioning these pains to my GP who just dismissed it as regular aches and pains and offered me pain relief which I don't really want to take. I have also tried physio which did not really help as it was more about finding ways to try and sleep comfortable then curing the problems I am facing. So I have been doing some research to see if their is a way that I can help ease these pains once and for all and I came across ML-Chiropractic.
Chiropractic is not something that I have ever even thought about looking into before but after a quick read of the website I have realised that it might be the solution to my problems. Treatment focuses on finding the underlying course of your problem and then treating it in a non-invasive way. It is suitable for everyone from babies to adults and even pregnant women, I have even heard people mention they have taken their newborn babies for treatment to help with colic with amazing results.
I honestly think that my back, pelvic and thigh pains are linked in some way due to my pregnancy, I am hoping that if I seek help from a chiropractic clinic then they will be able to identify the problem and work with me to resolve the problems I am having. Then I will hopefully be able to have a proper nights sleep again and most importantly get rid of this pain once and for all.
Have you tried Chiropractic before ? If so I would love to know in the comments below.
