Epson EcoTank ET-4500 Printer Review

Working from home on this blog and having a teenage daughter who is forever printing things off for her homework means that we use a printer a lot. My old printer was pretty rubbish if I am honest as it took ages to set up, having to plug cables in and we could only use it on the one laptop. We use to spend a fortune on ink cartridges as well as every couple of months we seemed to need to buy new ones.

So when Epson got in contact to ask if I would like to review one of their Eco Tank printers, which can save you up to 70 % off your printing costs I knew this would be the perfect printer for our family. The Epson EcoTank printers come with up to two years worth of ink supply, which is enough to print 4,000 black pages and 6,500 coloured pages. You get four bottles of ink included with the printer and you simply fill the printers refillable ink tank with them, they fit so much more ink then a regular cartridge could and there is no hidden extra costs.

We were sent the Epson EcoTank ET-4500 model and I have to say I am impressed with it already. Setting up the printer was really quick and easy with clear easy to follow instructions, even for a technophobic like myself. The best bit is that it is wireless with only the power cable attached, so no more messing around plugging cables in. You can also connect all the devices in your home to the printer, including mobiles and due to the WI-FI printing option, you can print from any device anywhere within the home, which is so handy.

Actually printing something out is super quick and simple with just the click of a button and I have been impressed with the quality of the printouts. This is a four in one printer so as well as printing you can scan, copy and fax, making it a very functional printer. I was a bit worried that the printer would be huge when I saw the box but it is actually a good sized printer that easily fits on my small desk well.

This printer has a RRP of £369.99 which may initially put some people off but if you take into consideration how much money you will be saving on ink over the next two years it actually is fairly well priced. Replacing the ink in the tank is inexpensive too as coloured inks are priced at only £7.66 and black inks at £10.99 which I think is very reasonable. After using this printer myself I feel that it is defiantly worth the price and it will save us a lot of money in printing costs.

Overall I am really impressed with this printer it was easy to set up, easy to use, a good size, wireless, prints well and can be used on multiple devices. Best of all you won't have to worry about running out of ink or spending a lot of money on cartridges every few months.

This printer is great for families like my own who use printers and copiers often for work and school purposes and it would also be a great addition to a home office as it has all the features that you would need and will help keep your printing costs low. I really do recommend this printer.

Have you tried out the new Epson EcoTank Printers yet?

Disclosure I was sent this product for the purpose of this review, however, all opinions are my own.

  6. You can't go wrong with an Epson multifunction printer. I have one myself and 6 years later it's still going strong. I'm working in it and prefer these to hp.

  8. That sounds like a very good deal. We left printer behind when we were moving because ink cartilages for it were too expensive. I need to look into this Ecotank thing, thanks ;)
