Chloe You Are A Teenager

Dear Chloe

Today is your birthday and you are thirteen, that seems so grown up to me as you are eventually a teenager. You may be a teenager but you will always be my baby girl no matter what and I still remember the day you were born like it was yesterday.

I have so many happy memories of your childhood and I wanted to create a collage of pictures of you every year from being a baby to how you are now. As you know we have been busy decorating and the house is a bit upside down, so I have been unable to get to the photo albums (there was no iphones or social media back when you were born).

We have had so much fun over the years, me and you. For so long it was just me and you against the world, as it was just us from you being tiny until I met Lee when you were eight. I miss the days out and adventures that we had when it was just me and you, we have had some amazing experiences. I know that you love being a big sister but sometimes feel a bit pushed out by Sophia and Jacob but I promise that I will start making more time for you and we will have days out just me and you again now they are a bit older.

Last year I wrote you a letter about turning twelve and I mentioned how much you had changed, you have changed even more this year. You have been at secondary school a whole year now and you are now in year eight, you have grown lots and are almost the same height as me. You are a typical teenager who does not get out of bed on a weekend until lunch time, spend all of your time on your iphone, love you tube, designer labels and make-up and would prefer to be out with your friends then your mum.

Sometimes you are huffy and have a attitude and you are extremely messy, please don't leave bath bombs and nail varnishes without lids everywhere they really stink. You are a good kid though we have not had any trouble with you and you are doing well at school and you are happy (most of the time). I am proud of how you are turning out you are beautiful inside and out and you are amazing with Sophia and Jacob, they adore you especially Sophia.

This past year you have had two teeth removed, got your ears pierced for the second time, spent most weekends out with your friends, you have been on days out (mostly to theme parks) and concerts. Your bedroom has turned into a proper teens bedroom with clothes dumped on the floor instead of hung up, make up scattered everywhere and your curtains are never open unless I open them. I wouldn't change you for the world though as your little habits are what make you Chloe.

I hope that you have a wonderful day today and like the presents and the cake that we got you, you are so hard to buy for now you are older. Tonight we will be going to your favourite restaurant to eat your favourite food (Indians) where you will get what you always get mixed kebab starter and lots of poppadoms, chicken tikka massala with half mushroom rice and half chips and a tikka nan bread followed by ice cream. You get the same meal always, as it is your favourite and you eat more then me. I hope you have a brilliant time celebrating on Saturday when you go out with your friends to Frankie and Benny's and shopping. Then you get a whole week off school to lay in bed until lunch time as it is half term.

Turning thirteen is not getting off to the best starts for you as you are having surgery on your eye next week, I know you are scared but it will be ok and once it is over with you will be happier again. I am looking forward to seeing what you get up to in your first year as a teenager, I hope that you enjoy every single day as being a teenager is some of the best days of your life.

I love you more then you could ever know and I am so proud to be your mum, happy birthday Chloe we all love you lots.

Lots of love, always, from Mum xx

P.S Sorry I stole a photo off your facebook as I dont have any recent photos of you as you refuse to get your photo taken unless it is a selfie.

P.P.S Just because I said I love you the way you are I would still really like it if you could be less messy and would put your clothes away, and maybe stop being so huffy too that would be great.
